About new arrivals, sales & special offers
Dating to Rei Kawakubo's seminal A/W 2005 'Broken Bride' collection, this top & skirt ensemble fuses the designer's signature deconstructionist aesthetic with Victorian era decorative elements including lace, frills, ribbons & crochet in shades of tea stained ivory, evoking Miss Havisham on angel dust. A miracle of design & construction, the top features two sets of collars and sleeves, and in typical Comme fashion can be worn upside down, inside out or any way you please. The lighter toned skirt is a simpler but no less beautiful confection of solid & semi-sheer tiered ruffles. Recognised as one of Comme Des Garçons most significant collections, a 'Broken Bride' ensemble very similar to this one is currently included in the NGV exhibition "Collecting Comme":
In mint/unworn condition, this is a rare & collectible museum worthy piece from one of the most lauded living designers.
