Originally designed in the 60's, the Emilio Pucci maxi cape is one of the designer's most iconic pieces and has been displayed in museums worldwide including the Palazzo Pucci in Florence. Made in Italy, this magnificent floor length version features a dramatic print in shades of neon tangerine, yellow & pink on a black background with the Emilio signature throughout that dates to 1972 as documented in the book "PUCCI – A Renaissance in Fashion" by Shirley Kennedy on page 107, saying that it is "inspired by cathedral stained glass". Made of super soft velvet, this is collared and fastens with clasps at the neck & snaps all the way down the front. Fully lined, it also features chain detail at the neck. In incredible condition for its age, this deserves to be preserved behind glass but is absolutely still wearable today! A true vintage holy grail, this is a stunning example from a historically important designer. Purchased from the estate of Lady Mary Fairfax, one of Australia's wealthiest & best dressed socialites, this piece has undoubtedly led a very exciting life already & is ready for more adventures with a fabulous new owner!
