A rare & beautiful example of early 70's Emilio Pucci, this velvet cape & maxi skirt set features a dramatic print in shades of neon tangerine, yellow & pink on a black background with the Emilio signature throughout that dates to 1972 as documented in the book "PUCCI – A Renaissance in Fashion" by Shirley Kennedy on page 107, saying that it is "inspired by cathedral stained glass". The set comprises a mini cape with uniquely structured shoulders & asymmetric bottom hem and a high-waisted skirt with an A-line shape & front slit. The cape fastens down the front with hooks & eyes while the skirt fastens with a size zip plus clasps & hooks & eyes. Both pieces are fully lined & in impeccable conditon! Purchased from the estate of Lady Mary Fairfax, one of Australia's wealthiest & best dressed socialites, this set has undoubtedly led a very exciting life already & is ready for more adventures with a fabulous new owner!
